STEEL REINFORCEMENT DETECTION
Conxraying can help you safely detect steel reinforcement bars or ‘reo’ within concrete prior to drilling, cutting or coring.
What Is Steel Reinforcement / Reo?
Steel reinforcement, or ‘reo’ refers to steel reinforcing bars used to strengthen concrete and hold it in tension. Steel reinforcement can also refer to a mesh of steel wires used as a tension device.
When reinforcing steel is used in concrete, it is referred to as ‘reinforced concrete’. Reinforced concrete is significantly stronger and some of its applications include foundations, roads, bridges, highrises and homes.
How do we conduct steel reinforcement detection?
We use GPR, a portable system to locate steel reinforcement, to map reinforcing bars inside concrete, sending signals into the slab and determining their location based on the feedback from these signals. This provides a real-time report of what is inside the concrete.
What Information Can We Provide?
Our GPR scanning equipment can assist you to:
- Determine safe location for cutting/coring
- Identify multiple reo mesh layers
- Identify depth variations
- Estimate diameter of reinforcing bars
- Identify reo bar cover
- Determine reinforcing bar spacing
How Are You Assured Our Report Can Be Trusted?
Technical expertise and experience is key in conducting an accurate scan of reo. Certain variables within the area being investigated can have an impact on the outcome of the report and that is why it is so important a trusted professional completes the job.
We assess the site conditions and use our equipment accordingly to get the most accurate results for you.
